Umulliko Indigenous Higher Education Centre

The University of Newcastle has about 18,000 students enrolled at the Newcastle campus, over 700 of whom are Aboriginal. The University has a reputation as a world-class institution making an impact within its own region, throughout Australia and across the globe. The Umulliko Indigenous Higher Education Centre has been established at the University since 1996. It was initially established with a Commonwealth Government grant and has had strong support from the local Aboriginal community.

Indigenous Australian Student Services

Southern Cross University has its three New South Wales Campuses located at Lismore, Coffs Harbour and Sydney. The University is focused on its students and takes pride in the quality of its lecturers, many of whom are recognised as leaders in their fields. The Indigenous Australian Student Services Unit is located at both Coffs Harbour and Lismore campuses and offers a wide range of supports and advice to Indigenous students in a friendly environment.

Oorala Aboriginal Centre

Located at Armidale, the University of New England has now been established more than 80 years. Whilst it now has a global reach, UNE still works closely in collaboration with its local community. Oorala, the Indigenous Student unit offers academic advice, tutorials, computer and tutorial rooms and a student common room for relaxation.

The Indigenous Student Service at CSU is a welcoming unit, ready to provide you with all the encouragement, support and assistance that you may need from the time you enrol until you graduate.

To assist you while you do this, they have established the Woolyunga Indigenous Centre that promotes a community environment, inviting all Indigenous students to have fun, network and seek advice.

Badanami Indigenous Centre

University of Western Sydney have several campuses in Sydney’s West. The campus closest to ERA accommodation, located in Sydney’s south west is the Campbelltown/Macarthur campus. You will also find the Badanami Indigenous Centre here, available to offer you personal and cultural support, advocacy, academic advice and research.
