Services Our Way

Please note that the new Services Our Way Guidelines are currently being finalised and will be made available on this page (and via search) as soon as they are approved.

Services Our Way (SOW) is a program specifically designed to meet the needs of Aboriginal people, their families and carers who are ‘at risk’ of housing instability or homelessness.

The program will meet housing needs and build capacity to maintain tenancy by providing a range of support and services through individualised funding packages.

The objective is to ensure flexibility, choice and cultural responsiveness to build family and community resilience.

This approach is aligned with FACS priorities and consistent with and supports the current focus on early intervention services and tailored support packages. SOW intervenes early to address risks and issues before they escalate, and focuses on linking Aboriginal people and families to existing government and non-government programs and services, including informal and community supports.

SOW will now be administered through and funded by the Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO). Previously, SOW was administered by Ageing, Disability and Home Care (ADHC) as part of the Department of Family and Community Services (FACS).

AHO is strongly committed to ensuring a continuity of service provision during this transition period.

Please do not hesitate to contact Services Our Way Manager if you have any questions regarding the transition.
