AHO Leading Community Demonstration Site initiative (LCDS)

Applications for Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) Leading Community Demonstration Site (LCDS) funding are now open.

The grant will support an Aboriginal organisation to co-design a new service to support their community's housing needs. The program will teach government important lessons about co-designing Aboriginal services for Aboriginal families.

What the LCDS recipient will receive

This grant will support one organisation to deliver a new service model for Aboriginal families in their community. The new service must address housing issues, plus one additional social matter that the organisation nominates. To help the project succeed, the AHO is offering:

  • funding over 3 years - the first year (setup year) will be funded up to $250K, then an additional $150K each year for the following two years
  • assistance to partner with community, providers, and other Government agencies, where needed.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the grant, you must be able to show that your organisation is:

  • an Aboriginal organisation driven to deliver positive outcomes for Community
  • at least 50 percent Aboriginal owned (and recognised through an appropriate organisation like Supply Nation, NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce, or similar)  
  • currently working with, or has worked with, the community in the past
  • based in NSW.
