Join a committee focused on improving housing outcomes for Western NSW! 

The Western Regional Aboriginal Housing Committee (RAHC) is seeking an additional committee member. People living in Murrumbidgee, Bathurst, Albury, Wagga, Dareton and Wentworth and surrounds are especially encouraged to apply. 

The role of RAHCs

RAHCs enable self-determination in their local communities, allowing people to participate in the housing decisions that impact them.

IN DEVELOPMENT: Domestic and Family Violence Guideline

The AHO Policy team is developing guidance to support Aboriginal Community Housing Providers to manage properties where tenants have experienced Domestic and Family Violence (DFV). In the first half of 2025, the team will be consulting with key stakeholders across NSW to inform the content of these guidelines.

Water Usage Charging: Ministerial Guidelines for ACHPs August 2022

These guidelines outline how water usage is to be charged, how to develop a water charging policy, how to calculate water usage charges and more. These Guidelines apply to all AHO dwellings managed by Aboriginal Community Housing Providers.

The possibilities are endless when you've got TAFE or university in your sights! Whether you're looking at pursuing arts, humanities or something where you can work with your hands, the added strain of living expenses can be a distraction. 

To make it a little easier to stay focused on studying, get in touch with us about the $10,000 grants that are available to Aboriginal students. 

$10K grant for current students

Currently full time at TAFE or uni?

Studying full time can make it hard to find time to do other things like eat breakfast, see friends or earn enough money to pay the bills. Cost of living challenges are real and can make it hard to give your education the attention it needs. 

To help ease the burden a little, we're offering $10,000 grants for Aboriginal students. 

Who is eligible

You might be eligible for up to a $10,000 Tertiary Accommodation Grant if you're an Aboriginal person who is currently:

$10K for student accommodation

Juggling it all is hard

You're invested in your studies, but the day-to-day challenges can make it really tough to stay focused. Studying can make it hard to find time to do other things like eat breakfast, see friends or earn enough money to pay the bills. 

If you're spending more than 30% of your weekly income on accommodation, you are officially experiencing "housing stress".

To help ease the burden a little, we're offering $10,000 grants for Aboriginal students. 

$10K to get you back to studying

Nice work getting back to your studies

You tried getting a qualification a little while ago and it didn't pan out. Now that you're back at university or TAFE, you're determined to make it work. 

You're a little bit older, a little bit wiser and have lots more life lessons behind you. 

This time around, you're seeking out the support you're entitled to. 

To help you stay focused and reach the finish line of your studies, apply for the $10,000 Tertiary Accommodation Grant available to Aboriginal students.
