The AHO received $50m in Stimulus funding from the Treasury budget process for the Aboriginal Community Housing Investment Fund (ACHIF) program.
The ACHIF program focuses on community sector delivered projects, both new supply and upgrades to community owned homes, to deliver improved living conditions and help reduce homelessness and overcrowding issues. The additional funding for the program is also helping to support the construction industry and associated trades across NSW with a focus on local and Aboriginal employment opportunities across all projects.
In the months following the budget announcement, the AHO undertook a stringent two-stage procurement process. The applications received were in excess of $175m for the $50m of funding available.
The AHO is delighted to announce the following 65 projects that are being fully funded under the ACHIF program. These projects will be delivered by the end of June 2022.
