The AHO’s Finding Your Way Transitional Housing Guidelines have been introduced today 6 September 2024.
The guidelines establish the standards and expectations for Aboriginal Community Housing Providers (ACHPs) in managing and providing transitional housing to Aboriginal people. These guidelines ensure a consistent and culturally appropriate approach to guarantee the program's long-term viability.
The Finding Your Way Transitional Housing Guidelines outline:
- standardised minimum eligibility criteria
- consistent setting of rent, water, bond, and utilities
- defined roles and responsibilities
- monitoring and evaluation of program delivery
- equal access and services for Aboriginal people, regardless of the ACHP managing the property
- transparency, accountability, and clarity in service delivery to contribute to the program's overall success
