Registration

Registration for 2010

The New South Wales Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) is now calling for Registration of Aboriginal Community Housing Providers (ACHPs) in New South Wales for 2010. Registration opens on 13 July and closes on 30 September 2009. All ACHPs are encouraged to apply or renew their registration. Registration with the AHO allows ACHPs to:

                House Bullet  Be considered as a social housing registered organisation when dealing with the

                          Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal (CTTT)

                House Bullet  Be considered for assistance with costs to attend AHO activities

                House Bullet  Receive an annual AHO Registration Certificate

 

Organisations that are currently registered with the AHO, or that have previously registered and provided updated contact details, will soon receive a registration package.

The Aboriginal Housing Act 1998 provides for the registration and maintenance of a register of Aboriginal housing organisations that provide housing:

 

           Man Bullet     Collect relevant information on the number of Aboriginal organisations actively

                   providing housing services to Aboriginal people in NSW;

           Man Bullet     Use the collected information for planning to determine and meet housing need

                   and ensure the long term viability of housing providers;

           Man Bullet     Fulfil its reporting requirements and complies with the terms and conditions of

                   funding under the National Affordable Housing Agreement (NAHA) ;

           Man Bullet     Fulfil its annual reporting requirements under the National Reporting Framework

                   (NRF);

           Man Bullet     Provide a better understanding of the Aboriginal housing sector; and

           Man Bullet     Be in a better position to renegotiate for funding for Aboriginal housing sector.
