Registration Policy

Thumbnail of Registration Policy

The AHO Registration Policy has been released. Registration is fundamental to the Build and Grow Aboriginal Community Housing Strategy.

The Aboriginal Housing Act 1998 requires all Aboriginal Community Housing Providers to be registered with the AHO in order to receive assistance from the AHO.

This includes any assistance under the Remote Indigenous Housing National Partnership Agreement (RIHNP), the Build and Grow Aboriginal Community Housing Strategy (Build and Grow) or any other current or future AHO programs. Providers who choose not to register with the AHO will become unregistered Aboriginal community housing providers.

The AHO registration policy explains how the AHO registers providers. It describes what providers need to do to become registered and gives details about things like eligibility, types of registration, types of assistance, and generally outlines the obligations of the AHO and the provider.

The AHO will be writing to Aboriginal community housing providers to advise of the release of the new Registration Policy in mid to late August 2012.
